Evelyn Burch Jones, 87, of 808 N. Main St., died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Caswell County, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Arthur Clarence and Ella Talley Burch and wife of the late John Victor Jones. Mrs. Jones retired from Peebles Department Store and she was a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School for over 20 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her siblings, Carolyn Young, Ophelia Walker, Sadie Burch, Ham Burch, and Buck Burch.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Darnell Carver; her son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Carol Jones; five grandchildren Mandy Carver Hill, of Huntersville, Victoria Jones, Angelica Jones, Alex Jones, and Julianna Jones, all of Roxboro.

Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Allen and the Rev. Philip Chryst. Burial will follow in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7PM to 8:30PM, Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ernie Jones, 270 Wimbledon Dr., Roxboro.

Pallbearers will be her nephews: Barry Walker, Michael Burch, Phillip Burch, David Young, Keith Burch, Haley Burch, John David Lunsford, and Robert Cox.
