Mrs. Yarborough was one of five children of the late Lester & Vallie Westbrooks Dickerson born on the family farm in Roxboro on January 12, 1925, she was preceeded in death her siblings Lester "Buddy" Dickerson, Jr., Mattie Lou Dickerson Winstead & Frances Dickerson Rudder. Mrs. Yarbrough was a member Theresa Baptist Church on Chub Lake Road, pastored by the Rev. Herbert Brown and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR ), she attended Greensboro College and worked at Camp Butner during World War II.

Bera was married to the late Hubert Thomas Yarborough, Sr. , who spent 20 years in the Unitied States Air Force before returning to their home in Roxboro, NC. During her husband Air Force career, she lived in Savannah, GA., Homestead, FL., Biloxi, MS., and Guam, after returning to Roxboro, Bera worked at McKee Insurance Agency for 27 years.

Surviving are her three sons: H. Thomas "Tommy" Yarborough, Jr., J. Sheldon Yarborough, Bryan K. Yarborough, one sister Margaret Dickerson Hughes, six grandchildren: Joey Yarborough, Jay Yarborough, Jason Yarborough, Karen Yarborough, Brooke Yarborough Flythe & Christopher Yarborough and two great-grandson: Corey Jacob Flythe & Jadyn Blake Yarborough.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 25,2010 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Interment will follow in the Brooks-Westbrooks-Dickerson Cemetery loctaed on the family farm at 2333 Leasburg Road, in Roxboro, NC. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM til 3:00 PM at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Tommy Yarborough, 2333 Leasburg Road, Roxboro, NC.

Pallbearers will be: Joey Yarborough, Jay Yarborough, Jason Yarborough, Christopher Yarborough, Rusty Wooten & Charles Westbrooks.
