Bruce Edward Wrenn, 61, of Semora, died Thursday, March 28, 2019. Born in Person County, Mr. Wrenn was the son of the late Norfleet Edward and Dorothy Dickerson Wrenn. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Wrenn Vernon. Bruce was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and daughter. In addition to spending time with his family, he held a heavy community presence. Bruce was involved and held offices in various organizations including Roxboro Jaycees where he enjoyed participating in their annual haunted houses, Person County Homebuilders Association, Roxboro Community School where he served on the school board, Person County Republican Party, United Methodist Men and Roxboro Development Group. Bruce was an asset to our community and helped initiate many new improvements to the county including the Roxboro Beautification Project and the Rox & Roll Cruise-In. He won several awards including Top Salesman with Dynamark and Sentry Watch, 2016 NC Main St Champion for Roxboro, 2015 Chamber Champion and was most recently honored for his time and service on Roxboro Area Chamber Commerce.
For the last three years, Bruce has been infamously known as “The Grinch” of Roxboro. He enjoyed spreading cheer to all citizens of the county, taking pictures and bringing smiles to all faces. He was recently featured in a 2018 issue of the Hyco Lake Magazine where he was recognized for his “spirit of service in Person County.” Bruce enjoyed his role of the Grinch because he said “it made people forget about their problems” and “get in the spirit.” He genuinely loved everyone he met.
Mr. Wrenn is survived by his wife, Vickie Campbell Wrenn; his daughter, Cassidy Paige Wrenn, of Semora; his nephew, Brandon Vernon, of Roxboro; his niece, Melissa Shedd, of Raleigh; and his parents-in-law, Troy and Pat Campbell, of Roxboro.
