Doughton A. Hodges, 84, of 784 Hillsborough Road, Timberlake, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Born in Watauga County, he was the son of the late Ray William Hodges and Esther Brown Hodges. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Clayton Hodges; son, Stephen Wayne Hodges; two siblings, Dock Hodges and Frankie H. Hendrix. Mr. Hodges was the owner and operator of Hodges Brothers Logging.

Surviving are his children, Doughton Ronnie Hodges (Virginia) of Timberlake and Pam Hodges Turberville (Charles) of Milton; brother, John Hodges (Rose) of Virgilina, VA; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in Connally United Methodist Church Cemetery (1664 Snatchburg Road, Milton, NC 27305). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1-2 PM).
