Betty Neathery Walker Hamm, 79, 301 Epperson Drive, Durham, died Sunday, January 27, 2019. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of William Robert Neathery and Reba Glenn Rimmer Neathery Wheeley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Lawrence Walker, Sr. and William Hamm and her brother, Robert "Bobby" Neathery.

Mrs. Hamm was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She was very passionate about taking care of the elderly and was a home health aide for many years. Mrs. Hamm was always very kindhearted and always willing to help her family and friends.

Surviving are her four children: Cecil Lawrence Walker, Jr. of Durham, William "Bill" Edmond Walker (Nancy) of Durham, Tammy Walker Ludlum of Bahama and Robert Allen Hamm of Durham; three siblings: Linda N. Hall of Roxboro, Joanne N. Holloway (Raymond) of Graham and John Henry Neathery (Fran) of Pittsboro; five grandchildren: Crystal Parker, Nicholas E. Walker, Brent Charles Shaw, Lacy N. Ludlum and Christopher D. Bryant; three great-grandchildren: Austin Parker, Colton Parker and Hunter L. Wilson.

Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Brooks & White Chapel.
