Norfleet Edward Wrenn, 88 of Roxboro, departed this life peacefully Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Person Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was son of the late Darcy Norfleet Wrenn and Cleo Blackard Wrenn. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dickerson Wrenn, his daughter, Deborah Wrenn Vernon and sister Myrtle Wrenn Cole.

He worked in maintenance at Person County until his retirement. He also retired from farming. During his retirement he enjoyed tending a large garden, dancing and socializing with his friends and helping make sausage on the Foushee farm on Tuesdays during the winter months. He was an active member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church often times enjoying the Cheerful Hearts group.

Edward is survived by his son Bruce Edward Wrenn and wife Vickie of Semora, his brother Gilbert John Wrenn and wife Hilda of Durham, three grandchildren Brandon Vernon of Roxboro, Melissa Shedd (Justin) of Raleigh and Cassidy Wrenn of Semora, five great-grandchildren, Alex and Blake Vernon of Roxboro, Carter, Samantha and Lucas Shedd of Raleigh and Jim Priest, fiancÚ of his late daughter Deborah Vernon, as well as a host of additional relatives and friends.

A service celebrating his life will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 3 PM at Mt Zion United Methodist Church, 135 Clay Long Rd Hurdle Mills NC 27541 with the Rev. Donald Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Bechtel, Leroy Culley, Ronnie Dickerson, Joseph Hicks, Larry Hicks and Jim Priest.
