Monroe Clifton Gentry, 88, of 134 Surl Mt. Tirzah Road died Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He was born in Person County to the late Willie and Lovie Clayton Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Monroe Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Stanfield Gentry, of the home; one son, Robin "Rob" Wayne Gentry, of Timberlake; three brothers, John Louis Gentry, of Norfolk, VA, Bobby Gentry, of Hillsborough, and Thomas Chambers, of Winston-Salem; one sister, Pauline G. Carlton, of Roxboro; one grandchild, Brandy G. Blalock (Brian), of Hurdle Mills; and one great-grandchild, Lorena Blalock.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Brooks and White Chapel with the Elder David Minter officiating. Burial will follow in Surl Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Alan Brooks, Gary Blalock, Mertis Blalock, Wes Morris, Joe Medlin, and Adam Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Sanford and Bo Newton.
