Charlie "Buck" Morris Oakley, Sr., 77, of Roxboro died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his home. He was born in Person County to the late Bennie Morris Oakley and Mary Clayton Oakley. In addition he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Carey Tad Long. Mr. Oakley worked in law enforcement for 28 years and retired as a Lieutenant. After he retired he work for the Person County Sheriff's Department. He was the owner/operator of Oakley Towing. Mr. Oakley was a member of Stories Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Trammel Oakley, of the home; one son, Charlie "Buck" Morris Oakley, Jr. and wife Kelli Oakley, of Roxboro; one daughter, Theresa Oakley Long, of Roxboro; two step-daughters, Marsha Ann Morris and Donna Morton; one sister, Jeanette Wallace and husband Lee Wallace, of Roxboro; grandchildren, Traci Owen and husband David, Stephen Long, Jessica Pinto and husband Michael, Kelby Oakley, Hunter Oakley, L.J. Lunsford, Colby Rice and wife Lauren, and D.J. Rice and girlfriend Brittany; great-grandchildren, Mason Owen, Chace Pinto, Kennedy Owen, Cayson Rice, Daniel Rice, and Kennedy Rice.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Brooks and White Chapel with the Pastor Mike Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakley Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Brooks and White Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 2809 McGhee's Mill Road, Semora, NC.

Pallbearers will be Larry Warren, Tommy Fox, Matthew Brandon, Lyn Brandon, Brad Suitt, and Don Mangum. Honorary pallbearers will be Person County Sheriff's Department and Roxboro Police Department.
