Roy Maynard Kendrick, 68 of 4444 Gordonton Road, Hurdle Mills, NC died Monday, September 4, 2017 at home. He was a native of Person County, born on February 6, 1949 to the late Wilbur Kendrick and Bessie Bowes Black. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his older brother, Wayne Kendrick, who died in 2008.

Maynard was self-employed with Kendrick’s of Roxboro. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah Broach Kendrick; two sons, Chad M. Kendrick and partner Michelle of Hurdle Mills and Kyle S. Kendrick of Towson, MD; his step-mother, Ruth Kendrick of Roxboro; two brothers, Michael Black of Winston Salem and Ricky Kendrick and wife Joy of Roxboro; a sister, Cindy Kendrick Bowes and husband Tim also of Roxboro; two step sisters, Kathy Talbot and husband Randy of Roxboro and Sue Garrett and husband Harvey of Roxboro; brother- in- law Larry Broach and wife Patsy of Burlington; sister-in-law, Christi Epps and husband Ronnie of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Makayla Kendrick and her partner Eric of Semora and Matthew Kendrick of Hurdle Mills; two step grandchildren, Cheyenne Johnson and Dalton Johnson both of Hurdle Mills; two great-grandchildren, Alayna Frazier and Kyzer Frazier; his nieces and nephews and beloved dog Holden.

Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 PM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Brooks and White Chapel.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Brooks and White Chapel with the Elder Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Wheelers Primitive Baptist Church near Gordonton.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Farrell, Joel Walker, Kendall Shaw, Glenn Stovall, Donald Hester, Bert Lea, and Terry Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Stovall, Jim Stovall, Gil Stovall, Alan Stovall, and Mike Lowery.
