James Curtis Potter, 73, of 9108 Ridgeville Road, Leasburg, died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Lee and Maude Potter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Whitlow Potter and four brothers: Floyd, Carl, Billy and Bobby Potter. He was a member of Leasburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia P. Williams (Willie) of Roxboro; companion, Sue Clayton of Leasburg; special daughter, Larene Clayton Weaver of Blanch; one brother, Robert Clifton Potter (Orene) of Reidsville; two sisters: Doris P. England (Mac) of Troutville, VA and Margaret P. Bullock (Ronald) of Reidsville; five grandchildren: Shayne Williams, Noelani Weaver, Ailina Weaver, Halia Weaver, and Makala Weaver.
Visitation will be held from 5-6:30 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, September 4, 2017 at Leasburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in the Leasburg Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carl Dean Duncan, Kevin Duncan, Richard Duncan, Jr., Mac England, Ronald Bullock, Jerry Duncan, Robert Potter, Wayne Potter, Bob Fulcher and Joe Carter.
