Loretta Deitz Foushee, 81, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 23, 2016. Mrs. Foushee was born on February 7, 1935 in Haywood County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Wilburn and Evelyn Blaylock Deitz, of Durham; her sister, Hazel Deitz Shelton; and her brother-in-law, George Reade Foushee.

Mrs. Foushee was a loving, supportive and a rock to her husband, John W. Foushee, Jr., of Roxboro. She was a caring and selfless mother to three children, Jay Foushee and wife Kim, of Roxboro, Barry S. Foushee, of Timberlake and Lori A. Foushee, of Clayton; her compassionate caregiver, Jeannie Stone; two grandchildren, Julia Foushee, of Roxboro and Clayton Wheeler Foushee, of Louisburg; one brother, Gary Deitz, Sr., of Stem. Mrs. Foushee also has numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Foushee was a banker and also a bookkeeper for Hyco Tobacco Warehouse for over 20 years. She was affectionately known as the First Lady of Foushee Farms. Mrs. Foushee was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, of Hurdle Mills.

Her life will be celebrated at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with a visitation on December 27, 2016 at 6PM. A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2016 at 7PM also at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank everyone for their visits, thoughts and prayers over the past two weeks. They also send a special thanks to the City of Roxboro Fire Department and the Person County EMS for their selfless service to them.
